So Much More Than Just London!
While England (and within it London) is a more popular destination, the UK comprises of three more countries: Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The other three countries have similarly ranked institutions with a diverse choice of programs, often with a lower cost of living. Let’s look at what these four countries have to offer.
England
Popular for David Beckham, Hyde Park, Stonehenge, double decker buses, fish and chips. With a long history of monarchy, wars, and periods of enormous development, England has a large variety of buildings, each with its own unique story.
Scotland
Home to multiple UNESCO designations, from World Heritage Sites to Cities of Design and Music. Some of the leading universities include: University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, University of Aberdeen and more.
Wales
Accounting for 4.8% of the UK population, Wales is roughly 20,800 square km in area. There are 8 universities in Wales, and around 25,000 international students from over 145 countries worldwide are enrolled in higher education – making up 19% of the student population.
Northern Ireland
Famous for the Game of Thrones which was filmed mostly in Northern Ireland. The country is small enough to feel like home, yet big enough for adventure and exploration. In fact, Northern Ireland is the most affordable UK region for students, £5,000 per year cheaper than living in London.
