Most In-Demand Jobs in Canada in 2019

The Ranstad Company, a staffing company in Canada, compiled a list of the most in-demand jobs in Canada for 2019. Here is a list of a few of these in-demand jobs:
1) Registered Nurse – $47,000 to $92,000
As Canada’s elderly population grows, there are several in-demand jobs for medical professionals, including nurses. Nurses assist doctors to provide general support for patients and ensure patients receive a high level of care. Currently the healthcare sector in Canada is dramatically understaffed and registered nurses are needed to fill the gaps in Canada’s healthcare system in 2019.
2) Driver $28,000 to $64,000
As the second-largest country on earth and with a population stretched from coast to coast Canada faces unique transportation challenges. All across the country, transport truck drivers operate heavy trucks to transport goods and materials over urban, provincial and international routes. Currently there is an acute shortage of drivers and it is projected that approximately 48,000 drivers will be needed by 2024. It is expected that several companies will reach out to foreign workers to help fill the gap.
3) Accountant – $37,000 to $113,000
Whether you want to work for yourself or in a large corporation, accountants are needed in every industry in Canada. With many companies conducting business internationally, accountants are able to apply a wide variety of accounting techniques and tax regulations. With a growing economy, accountants are certain to be in demand in 2019.
4) Administrative Assistant – $28,000 to $60,000
As business activities become more complex, administrative assistants are needed now more than ever in workplaces. Administrative assistants provide support to managers and employees, assist in daily office needs and manage their company’s general administrative activities. Assistants who have an affinity for technology and accounting will be in high demand in 2019.
5) General Labourer – $27,000 to $34,000
General labourers are integral to several industries, in particular the Canadian construction sector. General labourers perform a wide variety of tasks including directing traffic during road construction, setting up scaffolding, using forklifts, delivering materials or cleaning floors with high-powered cleaning tools. In 2019, general labourers are one of the most needed roles in Canada.
6) Project manager – $92,000 to $114,000
As the highest paid job on the list, Project Managers are needed in a wide variety of sectors ranging from construction to IT to marketing. Project Managers typically have expertise in the area that they are working in, however they also have general expertise to oversee professionals as well as budgets and timelines for projects. Project Managers with a project management professional (PMP) designation are especially in demand in 2019
7) Welder – $33,000 to $80,000
With the growing shortage of skilled trades professions, there is a great in-demand job for professionals including welders. With the average age of skilled trades professionals higher than in other professions, it is an indication of the shortage in the marketplace. If you are looking for a high paying job that is in demand, welding might be for you in 2019.
