Parents and Grandparents Program

On October 13, 2020, Canada launched the opening of the Parents and Grandparents program further focusing on the government’s commitment to reunite families in Canada. 

How the program works
If you are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident you can sponsor your parent or grandparent to live with you in Canada. The first step is to submit an expression of interest to sponsor. Between October 13th and November 3rd the government will accept interest to sponsor forms on their website. The IRCC will then hold a lottery after November 3rd and those candidates will be able to submit an application to sponsor their parent or grandparent. The IRCC is accepting 10,000 applications for this intake.
