PEI Issues Second Largest Provincial Immigration Draw of 2025
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) recently conducted its second-largest immigration draw of the year, further facilitating entry for skilled workers. On October 17, 2025, the PEI PNP issued a notable number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) as part of its ongoing efforts to attract candidates who contribute to the province’s economic growth. This draw focused specifically on individuals already residing and working in the province in high-demand occupations and international graduates from recognized local universities.
As of late October, PEI has awarded a total of 1,081 ITAs through its Provincial Nominee Program in 2025, marking significant progress. In this latest draw, the PEI PNP extended 160 invitations across two immigration streams: Labour Impact and PEI Express Entry. This represents the second-highest number of ITAs issued in any single draw this year, reflecting an increase of six invitations from previous draws.
To qualify for consideration with this provincial immigration stream, candidates needed to be employed in sectors that are crucial to PEI’s economic growth. Priority was given to international graduates from institutions such as the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de l’Île. Given the limited number of nomination spaces available and high application volumes, the province is concentrating its selection on skilled individuals in priority sectors such as healthcare, trades, and manufacturing. Currently, those working in the sales and service sector may face challenges in obtaining provincial nomination.
Prospective applicants can engage with PEI’s provincial immigration consideration process by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). After submitting their profile, candidates will be entered into the pool for their chosen stream and ranked against their peers. If selected, they will receive an invitation to apply for provincial nomination. The assessment criteria may include factors such as language proficiency in English or French, educational qualifications, work experience, and alignment with PEI’s strategic labour market needs, as well as specific employment-related attributes, including job offers from local employers or previous Canadian work experience.
In summary, PEI’s latest immigration draw highlights the province’s commitment to attracting skilled workers and international graduates to meet its growing economic demands. This provincial immigration initiative not only strengthens the local labour market but also provides a pathway for individuals seeking new opportunities in Canada. If you are considering applying to PEI’s Provincial Nominee Program, now is a great time to assess your eligibility and prepare your application.
