New Brunswick Issues Over 1,000 Provincial Nomination Invitations
In a recent announcement dated September 28, 2025, the NB Provincial Nominee Program (NB PNP) conducted four draws between August 11 and August 19, resulting in the issuance of a total of 1,052 invitations for candidates to apply for provincial nominations for permanent residency. These invitations were primarily issued through two key streams: the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream and the NB Express Entry Stream.
During the three draws held under the NB Skilled Worker Stream, 1,002 invitations were allocated. These draws targeted specific occupational categories, including the following:
- New Brunswick Experience Stream: 481 invitations were issued, focusing on health care, education, social and community services, and construction trades.
- New Brunswick Graduates Stream: 389 invitations were given across all sectors, with some exclusions for certain occupations, notably social and community service workers, chefs, and material handlers.
- New Brunswick Experience for Francophone Candidates: 132 invitations were extended to French-speaking applicants in various sectors, also with exclusions for specific occupations.
Interestingly, no cut-off scores were announced for these draws, and the first draw excluded candidates from particular job categories, like social and community service workers (NOC 42201) and material handlers (NOC 75101).
Additionally, the NB Express Entry Stream held a draw concurrently during this period, targeting skilled foreign nationals already in the federal Express Entry pool who expressed interest in settling in New Brunswick. A total of 50 invitations were extended specifically through the Employment in NB pathway. Candidates in professions such as social and community service workers and chefs were excluded from this draw as well.
As of 2025, NB has issued an impressive total of 3,067 invitations to date. The province had previously been allocated 1,500 nomination slots for its PNP in February 2025, and an additional 1,500 slots were negotiated in June, bringing the overall nomination allocation for the current year to 3,000. It’s crucial to note that while nomination slots reflect the province’s capacity, they do not always equate to the number of invitations issued, as provinces often nominate more applicants to account for any declines or unmet requirements.
In summary, the recent draws in New Brunswick highlight the province’s commitment to attracting skilled workers and graduates, reinforcing its position as a favorable destination for those seeking to establish permanent residency in Canada.
