IRCC Extends Invites to Record Number of Canadian Experience Class Candidates with Lowest Cut-Off Score Since September 2024

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has bolstered its Express Entry system by issuing a significant number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) specifically for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. In the recent draw held on July 8, 2025, the IRCC extended 3,000 ITAs, marking a continued effort to invite skilled individuals who have accrued work experience in Canada.

To qualify for this draw, candidates needed to meet certain criteria. Firstly, they must have achieved a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 518. Additionally, applicants were required to have submitted an Express Entry candidate profile prior to 1:48 a.m. UTC on October 2, 2024.

In 2025, the IRCC has taken a strong focus on various immigration streams through Express Entry, issuing a total of 45,201 ITAs to date. The year has predominantly seen draws oriented towards the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), with the rest of the invitations distributed among CEC candidates, those with French-language skills, and individuals in designated priority occupation categories.

The recent draw is significant as it is part of a consistent pattern observed this year, featuring biweekly draws alternating between PNP and CEC candidates. The detailed statistics for 2025 are as follows:

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP): 12 draws
Canadian Experience Class (CEC): 7 draws
French-language Proficiency: 3 draws
Healthcare and Social Services: 2 draws
Education: 1 draw
