Canada Issues Invitations to Canadian Experience Class Candidates in Second Express Entry Draw This Week
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has once again issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) via the Express Entry system this week. This latest draw concentrated on candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), resulting in 3,000 ITAs being distributed. Eligible candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 521 and must have created their Express Entry profile before 3:56 p.m. UTC on November 21, 2024.
Summary of the 2025 Express Entry draws reveals that this is the sixth draw in June, with the most recent one taking place on June 26. The earlier draws this month included a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on June 23, another CEC-focused draw on June 12, and a smaller PNP draw on June 10. As of now, IRCC has handed out 41,845 ITAs through Express Entry in 2025. Most draws have concentrated on PNP candidates, with the rest targeting CEC candidates, those with French-language proficiency, and individuals in high-priority categories.
The breakdown of draw types in 2025 so far includes: 11 draws for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, 6 for Canadian Experience Class (CEC), 3 focused on French-language proficiency, 2 for healthcare and social services, and 1 centered on education.
Interestingly, this marks the first consecutive week in which Canadian Experience Class candidates have been the focus in IRCC’s biweekly schedule since February. Between February and early June, the agency predominantly focused on PNP draws, alongside limited category-based selections, with draw sizes substantially smaller than current ones. While it’s uncertain if this recent draw indicates a shift towards more frequent and larger CEC draws, it could set a new trend moving forward.
Conclusion: As Canada’s immigration landscape continues to evolve, it’s essential for prospective immigrants to stay informed about these changes and understand how they may impact their applications. The recent focus on Canadian Experience Class candidates suggests potential future shifts in immigration priorities. For those looking to immigrate to Canada, keeping a close eye on the latest Express Entry draws is crucial to gauge the competitiveness of their profiles and strategically plan their immigration journey.
