How to Apply
- Choose your program — Search the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) database for programs that match your interests and qualifications.
- Check admission requirements — Requirements vary by university and program. You may need to have your credentials evaluated through uni-assist.
- Prove financial resources — You will need to show approximately €11,904 per year (as of 2024) in a blocked account (Sperrkonto) to obtain your student visa.
- Apply for a student visa — Apply at the German embassy or consulate in your country. Processing times vary, so apply early.
- Get health insurance — Health insurance is mandatory in Germany. Student rates are approximately €110/month.
